St GeorgebrauLiterally translated as 'cellar beer', Kellerbier is an unpasturised and unfiltered lager which is allowed to settle in solid oak barrels before being tapped; the result is a naturally cloudy and strongly hopped beer, often brewed to an Okoberfestbier-Märzenbier strength. The St Georgen Bräu Kellerbier is based in the small Franconian village of Buttenheim, just south of Bamberg, and the brewery has been in the same family since 1624.
